How do I assemble my mini micro?

The mini micro scooter is easy to assemble and takes just a few seconds!

First, remove the plastic wrap from the t-bar handle and deck. Lay the deck of the scooter on the ground, wheel side down. The end opposite the handle bars needs to be inserted in the hole at the front of the deck.

Note that the hole on the deck has one side that is flat. Note too that the tube end of the t-bar handle also has a hole with one side that is flat. Match up the flat sides of the t-bar handle and the deck hole. Pop the t-bar handle into the deck - push until you hear or feel a click. If you give the t-bar a tug and it feels secure, then assembly is complete!

RELEASING THE T-BAR HANDLE FROM THE DECK

From time to time you may want to release the t-bar from the deck - this is most often done when traveling, to make the scooter a convenient size to fit into a travel bag. It is also possible to dissemble the t-bar on a daily basis. Some people do so in order to store at school or daycare. Most people find it convenient to simply hook it on to the back of a stroller or carry the scooter.

To dissemble the deck and t-bar, turn the deck over so you are looking at the underside of the scooter. You will see a black or gold pin - this is the locking mechanism that keeps the t-bar and deck together. Simply push in the pin and pull the handle bar - the t-bar comes away but it is it is not always so easy to pull out, so feel free to apply a little petroleum jelly.

HOW TO STEER THE MINI MICRO SCOOTER

The mini micro has a unique steering mechanism, referred to as lean-and-steer. It is probably the biggest single reason kids love this scooter, but if you are not familiar with it, it can be a little confusing at first. Rest assured that virtually all children learn to steer the scooter, easily and intuitively. To operate the lean-and-steer, children simply lean slightly to the right to curve right or to the left to curve left. The wheels will pivot to allow the scooter to gently turn to the right or left - it is not a right angle turn. For kids this makes a scooter ride more fun, it feels like they are surfing the sidewalk!

Kids of all ages may at first simply scoot in a straightforward direction - the lean-and-steer mechanism is unique so it is quite likely to be new to them, but this does not usually seem to bother them, they simply ride the scooter in straight lines and gradually they pick up how the steering works. The time required varies with age but most children it comes quite easily. Kids as young as 18 months have been known to operate this proficiently, but it may take a couple months for that to develop. The videos of children demonstrating the mini micro on our website should help.

How can I maintain my mini micro?

    MAINTAINING YOUR MINI MICRO

The mini micro is known and loved for its durability. Many parents report that their mini micro scooters are in great condition, even after years of daily use. The company that created the mini micro is one that loves quality design - they continue to perfect the mini micro in many ways, making each part stronger and then even stronger still, in order to help the mini micro endure the heavy use that most kids give it.

Below we have listed some of the ways that you can keep your mini micro operating for your child's safety and pleasure.

U-bend - this U-shaped wire bar provides the tension on the steering mechanism - if the steering doesn't seem right, is either too stiff or too loose, turn the scooter over to see if the U-bend can be seen. If the U-bend is broken or is missing, replacement parts are available on our website.

Brake – heavy usage takes toll on brake, brake replacements are available on our website. Screws (size M2.10) are provided with the brake.

Front axle bolts and wheels - the front axle bolts keep the wheels on the scooter. The bolts are assembled using both loctite and glue. If your bolt appears to be loosening, either you see a wobbly wheel or you notice an excess of loctite on the wheel. It is recommended that you either remove the deck using a philipps head screw driver in order to tighten and add glue to the wheel, or that you return the scooter to us for repair or replacement.

Foam handle bars - we continue to make the handle bars longer-lasting, a challenge when one considers that some dogs (and some kids) just love to chew on them. If your handle bars no longer cover the t-bar, we do offer replacements for purchase on our website.

What is included in the warranty for your Micro® products?

WARRANTY REGARDING SPARE PARTS AND RETURNS

It is our experience that mini micros and g-bikes become a part of the daily life of the children who own them.  As such normal wear and tear may result in parts needing to be replaced from time to time.

With good maintenance, the scooters and g-bikes are designed to last for years when used by young children.  Although they are not designed to be used for jumps or tricks, more experienced children may disregard this.  As such it would be difficult for us to guarantee all parts for an unlimited period of time.

However, we want to keep our products in good working order for you and therefore we provide a variety of parts on our website at minimal cost to you.   Shipping is included.

If you have purchased your scooter or g-bike within the last 30 days, and it becomes damaged beyond normal wear and tear, please contact us at info@microscootersamerica.com, or send your scooter to the following address so we can determine if repair or replacement is required.
